Wearing Art

The Como Silk Museum hosts the second edition of Wearing Artan exhibition celebrating the union between fashion, education e European artistic tradition. The project is the brainchild of the Silk Foundation ETSin collaboration with theISIS Paolo Carcano and the group of Alumni of the Setificiowith the aim of highlighting the creativity of young students from Como. Protagonists of the exhibition are a thirty scarves designed by the classes of the Fashion System course, inspired by the European painters in the late 19th and early 20th century.

The students transformed their artistic research in printed textile creations, with the aspiration of producing original and refined fashion accessories. The exhibition represents not only an educational path, but also a concrete opportunity to connect the school world with the productive excellence of the Como area. The winning projects, selected by a Technical Jury of textile expertswill be produced and sold in the museum shop, with proceeds going to the school and the museum itself.

This exhibition is a virtuous example of how the artistic training can be translated into professional opportunities, keeping alive the Como textile traditions.
