PAC - Pavilion of Contemporary Art - Milan (MI)
includedFrom Tuesday 25.11.2025 to Sunday 8.02.2026
The exhibition India. Of flashes and escapes at PAC Milan offers an original and engaging look at the’Indian contemporary art, told through a collective that gives voice to the plurality of experiences and tensions that characterise the subcontinent today. Edited by Raqs Media Collective e Ferran Barenblit, the exhibition is part of the’Milan Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympiad, proposing a profound dialogue between the works and the social and political contexts from which they emerge.
Via installations, video art, painting, photography, drawing and performance, the exhibition showcases unstable and changing scenarios, a mirror of a society marked by profound contradictions but also by great vitality. The works on show explore themes such as the fragility of collective existence, the resilience, the search for alternative futures e possible escape routes, suggesting a narrative of light and shadow, resistance and desire.
A distinctive element of the exhibition is the artistic residence realised in collaboration with the House of Artists in MilanThirteen Indian artists have developed site-specific projects in relation to the Milanese urban context, resulting in unpublished works designed for the city and presented for the first time at the PAC.
With the participation of 29 artists including Anju Acharya, Tenzin Gyurmey Dorjee, Uzma Mohsin, Sumakshi Singh, the collective is configured as a dynamic mosaic, able to cross geographical and cultural boundaries and restore a polyphonic and urgent vision of contemporary India.
