The exhibition The dream revealed represents a unique opportunity to explore Surrealism in Piedmontwith a special focus on artistic production from the post-World War II period to the present day. Curated by Marco Marzi e Stefano Morabito, the exhibition focuses on Turin's fertile cultural terrain, a true crossroads for artists who were able to translate the suggestions of European Surrealism into new and personal forms.
Undisputed protagonist of this narrative is the 'Surfanta' groupfounded in the 1960s by Lorenzo Alessandri. The name combines 'surreal' and 'fantastic', evoking an aesthetic universe that fuses imagination, mystery and symbolism. The group brings together central figures such as Enrico Colombotto Rosso, Silvano Gilardi (Abacuc), Giovanni Macciotta, Raffaele Pontecorvo, Lamberto Camerini and the sculptor Mario Molinariall driven by a desire to plumb the world of dreams, the unconscious and the uncanny.
The exhibition includes works by artists such as Donatella Merlo e Francesco Tabussoalso paying homage to the figure of Italo Cremonaforerunner of enigmatic and cultured atmospheres. The visionary and symbolic languagepassion for allusion and mystery run through all the rooms of the Art Gallery, creating an immersive experience that stimulates reflection and imagination.
