Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology - Milan (MI)
includedFrom Friday 12.09.2025 to Sunday 11.01.2026
With The hidden breath of the image, Patrick Mimran returns to the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology with an immersive project that transforms the museum space into a perceptive and conceptual laboratory. The French artist proposes a new experience sensory and visualbetween the evocative Cloisters and the Railway Pavilionwhere the encounter between science, technology e contemporary art generates an unprecedented and surprising dialogue.
Two series of large photographs - the "Queens" and the "Ducks"represent the beating heart of the exhibition. The first, inspired by historical portraits of the Queen Elizabeth I, come updated through a complex graphic reworking, which projects its iconography into the 21st century. The latter, starting from a plastic ducklingthey are transformed into animated entities, endowed with personality, emotions and character, becoming symbolic mirrors of our fluid identities.
Mimran invites us to reflect on the transformative potential of the imageon the identity of visual icons and the ability of the digital technology of renewing artistic language. His work, profoundly multidisciplinaryhas its roots in the theories of visual perception and the Gestaltchallenging the viewer to go beyond appearance to grasp the hidden dimension of the work.
In this continuous metamorphosis, the Museum becomes not just a place of preservationbut living and active spacecapable of inspiring new narratives and stimulating authentic interaction between art and the public. The project is presented as a poetic and provocative reflection on how we see, feel and understand images in the contemporary world.
