The Divine Raphael. The Lady with the Unicorn

The MUST – Vimercate Local History Museum is honoured to host “The Lady with the Unicorn”, famous masterpiece by Raphael Sanzio on special loan from the prestigious Borghese Gallery by Rome. The initiative forms part of the festival “Great Art in Brianza”, a project organised by ‘Let’s Build the Future’ ETS Foundation in collaboration with the Municipality of Vimercate, Galleries of Italy – Intesa Sanpaolo, Edison and the same Borghese Gallery.

The exhibition of this work of art represents a unique opportunity to promote culture and the local area. To give visitors the warmest possible welcome and celebrate the event, the entire local community is pulling together to organise a packed programme of accompanying events involving the the historic centre of Vimercate, the Public library and various Local organisations. The programme schedule offers a wide range of programmes: from guided tours dedicated to exploring the historical and artistic heritage of the’Roman Age at Middle Ages, to nature walks through the city’s parks organised by the North-East Agricultural Park, including special tours of the Borromeo Hunting Lodge a Oreno. The cultural programme is further enhanced by in-depth lectures led by experts and art historians such as Stefano Zuffi, thematic displays featuring in-depth bibliographic information, Renaissance and Baroque music concerts and evocative multimedia events which intertwine music, dance and painting dedicated to the historic court of the Duke of Urbino.
