Temporary exhibition
I Grant You Refuge
Monastery of St Blaise - Mondovì (CN)

From Saturday 18.10.2025 to Monday 15.12.2025
The exhibition I Grant You Refuge is an intense collective photographic work by six Palestinian photojournalists (Jehad Al-Sharafi, Mahdy Zourob, Mohammed Hajjar, Omar Ashtawy, Saeed Jaras, Shadi Al-Tabatibi), which throws us into the heart of the Gaza Strip to document, through powerful and moving images, the atrocities and suffering experienced by the Palestinian people. The title is inspired by a poem by Hiba Abu Nada, a writer killed in 2023 during a bombing in Khan Yunis, paying tribute to the courage and resilience of a tormented population.
Curated by documentary filmmaker Paolo Patruno, the exhibition was created as part of the Festival of Cultures 2025 'Beyond Conflictpromoted by the Municipality of Ravenna, and is hosted at the Monastery of St Blaisehome of the Casa do Menor. The images, accompanied by captions translated by the House of Cultures of the Municipality of Ravenna, forcefully recount the reality of one of the most devastating conflicts of our time, emphasising the fundamental role of the independent journalism in witnessing violations and injustices.
The 18 October opening will be graced by the presence of Nasri Kumsieh, spokesman for the Bethlehem artisans and an active figure in the defence of the dignity of West Bank workers, and by a Palestinian-themed aperitifin support of local producers. The exhibition is also an opportunity to collective reflectionof solidarity and civic engagement.
