Hyperballad. The landscape beyond the gaze

The historic garden of the residence of Queen's Villa becomes the ideal setting for interdisciplinary research aimed at transcending the traditional boundaries between culture e environment. The exhibition, the result of a collaboration with the’Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and edited by Sara d’Alessandro Manozzo, brings together the works of four contemporary artists: Caterina Gobbi, Ramona Ponzini, Diana Sonetto e Marzio Zorio.

Through the targeted use of sound dimension, the artistic journey aims to explore new ways of relating to the the natural world, thereby removing the surrounding environment from mere visual appreciation. Sound installations, ambient recordings in the field and initiatives to performance blend harmoniously with the backdrop of the 17th-century landscape, making room for presences, resonances and imaginaries designed to challenge the established order the primacy of the human gaze.

The title of the exhibition, Hyperballad, is a clear reference to the iconic track by Björk of 1996, in which the landscape ceases to be a mere inert backdrop and becomes an active part of the relational dynamic, transforming into a living interlocutor with whom one must engage. The nature It is not defined as a passive scenario to be contemplated or a resource to be controlled, but rather as an active presence. These themes take shape through a variety of expressive languages, ranging from performative practices to sound sculptures.
