Holy Cross

On the occasion of the Jubilee 2025the Municipality of Sondrio celebrates the Holy Year with an important exhibition Holy Crosshosted at the MVSA - Valtellina Museum of History and Art, in the heart of Sassi de’ Lavizzari Palace. The initiative extends throughout the liturgical period from Easter to Pentecost, offering a unique opportunity for artistic and spiritual reflection.

The exhibition stems from the collaboration between the Municipality of Sondrio and the Giovanna Dejua Foundation and stands out for its strong symbolic and religious value. The project obtained the official patronage of the Holy See for the 2025 Jubilee, through the Dicastery for Evangelisation, signed by Monsignor Rino Fisichella, as well as the support of the’Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalemof the Diocese of Como and the Province of Sondrio.

Holy Cross offers an exhibition itinerary that explores the meaning of the Cross via contemporary sacred artworks, capable of connecting the Christian iconographic tradition with a contemporary visual sensibility. The exhibition aims to offer visitors an immersive experience, charged with introspection and spirituality, in keeping with the profound meaning of the Jubilee Year. The event is intended as a moment of dialogue between faith, art and culture, focusing attention on the theme of Redemption and the Hope.
