The exhibition Henri Cartier-Bresson and Italy represents the most significant monographic exhibition dedicated to the deep connection between the famous French photographer and Italy. Through about 200 vintage photographs and numerous period documents - newspapers, magazines, volumes - the exhibition offers a journey that begins in the 1930s and ends in the 1970s, the period when Cartier-Bresson abandoned photography.
Defined the eye of the centuryCartier-Bresson had a deep love for Italy, attracted in particular by the vibrant street life that allowed him to capture those decisive moments become the hallmark of his work. The exhibition is promoted by the Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo Foundation and is a collaboration between the Fondation Henri Cartier-Bresson of Paris and the CAMERA Foundation - Italian Centre for Photography of Turin, under the curatorship of Clément Chéroux e Walter Guadagninidirectors of the respective foundations.
