Exhibition of works by the artist Guido Daniel, who has dedicated over 20 years of his career to painting hands to recreate animal appearances with extreme realism e chromatic vivacity. The project Handimals celebrates the beauty of nature and, at the same time, invites us to reflect on its fragilityEach creation, the result of hours of patient work, is photographed and then destroyed. The photography thus becomes the only evidence of the work, a symbol of the vulnerability of life and the animal species represented.
On show will be amazing eagles and elephants, horses and pandas, butterflies and dogsall masterfully realised with brushes and colours on hands of all kinds, transformed into authentic masterpieces of pictorial mimicry. Guido Daniele, born in Soverato in 1950 and now residing in Milan, has a solid and articulate artistic education behind him: a graduate of the Brera Art School with specialisation in sculpture, lived in Indiawhere he studied traditional Tibetan painting in Dharamsala. Since the 1970s he has worked as hyperrealist illustratordeveloping an original and refined style.
From 2000with the series Handimals, received a international interestalso asserting itself through its commitment to the protection of wildlifeactively collaborating with organisations and associations such as the WWF and the Jane Goodall Institute. His art thus becomes a message of environmental awarenesscombining technique, creativity and ethical sensitivity.
