Guido Tassini TAX. From the Wheel to the Crank

WHEEL FACTORY - Pray (BI)

included
From Sunday 7.09.2025 to Sunday 19.10.2025

"Among the old frames powered by the Wheel, now crank-powered contraptions emerge, they look like Victorian inventions, in England they call them automata. But there are also strange bikes fakei.e. fake but likely ancient. I built them by giving new life to old things, rescued from the rubbish or found in my family's cellar, one of those where nothing was thrown away because could always be used'".

This is the world of Guido Tassini Taxan artist who built advertising hot-air balloons in the 1970s and then became visual designer at the Milan school of Bruno Munari e Max Huber. With his friends he invented one of the first private radio and TV stations (RadioVercelli, VideoVercelli) and founded the Punto P graphic studiocreating trademarks and graphics for many companies.

Today, Tax brings together mechanics and antiques, irony and nostalgia, creativity and DIY to narrate our complicated times, where it is increasingly difficult to distinguish the real from the fake. With his works, he narrates his relationship with a hyper-technological world that wants to change too quickly and forget our past.
