Giuseppe Gabellone and Diego Perrone

GAM - Municipal Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art - Turin (TO)

From Saturday 2.11.2024 to Sunday 16.03.2025

The GAM in Turin dedicates an exhibition to GRASSan out-of-format art magazine created by artists Giuseppe Gabellone e Diego Perrone in 2016. The exhibition, curated by Elena Volpatopresents the first seven issues of the magazine, including the new Amedeo Special, realised thanks to the support of the Fondazione per l'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT. The magazine, characterised by an imposing format of two metres by three, explores new and often inaccessible visual and narrative languages, proposing art that challenges traditional publishing conventions.

Each issue of GRASS represents a unique artistic interpretation, transforming photographs, interviews and performances into mosaics, tapestries and monumental images. The seventh issue, in particular, is a homage to a 1940s Turin cocktail, the Amedeo Cocktailreinterpreted for the occasion by the bartender Marco Torre of Bar Cavour, and will be offered for tasting during the opening. With its aesthetic that plays between pop and twilight atmospheres, GRASS recounts a visual and conceptual journey where each edition is a window on parallel worlds, without renouncing a beauty steeped in fragility.
