Temporary exhibition
Grado Zero. The mountain beyond genres
Duca degli Abruzzi' National Mountain Museum - Turin (TO)
From Tuesday 27 October 2026 to Sunday 6 June 2027
The Duca degli Abruzzi' National Mountain Museum presents the exhibition GRADO ZERO. The mountain beyond genres, an exhibition project curated by Andrea Lerda e Linda Cottino, with the distinguished collaboration of the anthropologist Michela Fusaschi. The exhibition is structured around a fruitful dialogue between contemporary artworks and valuable historical materials from leading institutions in the cross-border Alpine region. The research project stems from the profound need to decentralise the hegemonic masculinity which has historically characterised and shaped the world of the highlands, with the aim of repositioning the female figure within a narrative from which it has been unjustly excluded. The exhibition thus aims to outline the vision of a realisable utopia: a mountains beyond genres.
Among the highlights are works by internationally renowned artists, including Maria Lai, Marwa Arsanios, Cleo Fariselli, Kate Gilmore, Silvia Margaria, Caterina Morigi e Flaminia Veronesi. The exhibition also features the installation At Al Bruco of the artist Kathrin Siegrista project site specific produced by the Turin museum in collaboration with the Hittisau Women’s Museum. The exhibition features MILIEU, a genuine forum for discussion designed to host meetings, organisations, feminist groups and individual visitors, all of whom are invited to contribute actively to the debate.
