The exhibition Giorgio Griffa. A line, Montale and something else at Castle of Miradolo celebrates the Turin artist Giorgio Griffa, a leading figure in contemporary pictorial research. The exhibition covers the artist's entire career, with works site specific created for the occasion. Curated by Giulio Caresio e Roberto Galimbertithe exhibition, organised by the Cosso and Giorgio Griffa FoundationsIt goes through several exhibition phases and involves the spaces of the castle and its park.
The installation includes a dialogue with monumental treesa greenhouse with a Canon Aureusa rustic courtyard and a large castle lawn. Le historical rooms house works that narrate Griffa's evolution over the decades, while a wing on the first floor presents canvases from the 1970s and 1980s that have never been exhibited together. The exhibition is accompanied by a sound installation by Avant-dernière pensée. In parallel, there is an educational project, From one metre downto teach the observation of works of art.
Giorgio Griffa, born in Turin at 1936, started painting as a child and embraced abstract art in the 1968. His artistic career, outside of specific currents, has been continuous for over fifty years. The exhibition offers a broad overview of his extraordinary career, from his nomination as Artist of the Year 2024 a The Art Newspaper to its recent installation Blue-yellow for Luci d'Artista.
