Gianluca Patti. Diary of a dreamer

The solo exhibition of Gianluca Patti entitled Diary of a dreamer, hosted by the Fondazione Stelline and curated by Alessandra Klimciuk, presents over thirty works and four installations exploring the artist's artistic research. This research focuses on the use of colour and matter as expressive means to represent his vision of the world.

Patti's works are influenced by his personal experiences, including his early visual experiences and memories of these experiences. Materials such as cement products, resins, pigments, plasterboard mesh and bubble wrap, which recall his family history, are decontextualised and used to create layered, sculptural works. These works reflect the monochromatic world that characterised his childhood, when he was often in hospital, but now express themselves in a variety of colours, carrying with them the memory of those dark moments.

The exhibition recognises the profound value of lived experiences, even the most painful ones, and highlights the artist's resilience in finding strength in fragility.
