Fata Morgana: memories from the invisible

The exhibition Fata Morgana: memories from the invisibledesigned and produced by the Nicola Trussardi Foundation and hosted at Palazzo Morando | Costume Fashion Imageproposes an exhibition itinerary that interweaves art, history and mysticism on a journey through inner dimensions and experiences at the boundaries of the visible. Curated by Massimiliano Gioni, Daniel Birnbaum and Marta PapiniThe exhibition is inspired by the poem Fairy Morgana by André Breton and takes shape from the figure of the Countess Lydia Caprara Morando Attendolo Bologninia collector and enthusiast of occult studies, whose library is now kept at theHistorical Civic Archive and Trivulziana Library.

Inside the evocative rooms of Palazzo Morando, the public can admire a precious nucleus of works by Hilma af KlintSwedish artist who, guided by mediumistic experiences, developed an innovative abstract language, anticipating figures such as Wassily Kandinsky e Piet Mondrian. His canvases dialogue with the works of visionaries such as Georgiana Houghton, Emma Kunz, Linda Gazzera, Hélène Smith, Eusapia Palladino, Carol Rama, Man Ray, Pierre Klossowski, Victorien Sardou, Augustine Lesage, Annie Besant e Wilhelmine Assmann.

The exhibition is also enriched by the research of contemporary artists, including Judy Chicago, Kerstin Brätsch, Marianna Simnett, Andra Ursuţa, Diego Marcon e Chiara Fumaiwhich reinterpret the relationship between art, the occult and transcendence through innovative and multimedia languages. The result is an exhibition that invites us to reflect on the possibility of art becoming an instrument of revelation, trance e mediumistic creationan immersive experience capable of evoking invisible and intimate universes.
