Paint me a picture of the sun

The artistic and multimedia initiative was born as a profound reinterpretation of the figure of Emily Dickinson, restoring her complexity as a woman ironic, passionate e irreverently transgressive on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of his death. The exhibition, hosted along the tour route of the Moncalieri Castle, is not a simple commemorative celebration, but an experience aimed at reactivating the voice of the poet in the present through dialogue between visual arts, poetry, music e theatre. Protagonists are the artists from Turin Matilde Domestico e Floriana Porta, whose works are intertwined with the legacy of the Myth of Amherst.

Matilde Domestico presents installations in porcelain, paper e metal, where Dickinson's verses become permanent traces in the material, baked at very high temperatures to become an incisive sign. Alongside them, the unreleased artist's book stands out FA-MI-SOL, produced with the publishing house ChickElephant. Floriana Porta instead proposes a series of watercolours in which the colour blue, introspective figure of his research, he merges word and image on pages cut from books and sheet music. The project, promoted by the Savoy royal residences - National museums Piedmont and theUniversity of Turin, is enriched with a vernissage with concert-reading on 8 March, with the participation of the actress Luana Doniof the string quartet ICARO and numerous scholars and translators.
