Egypt. In the footsteps of the gods

La Egyptian Museum Foundation, in close collaboration with the Municipality of Bra, presents an extraordinary exhibition set against the charming historic backdrop of Mathis Palace. The exhibition offers a unique and deeply evocative journey through the religious thought and overall magical-symbolic universe of theancient Egypt, revealing it to the public for the very first time thirteen original amulets e previously unpublished artefacts closely linked to the worship of the Pharaoh.

Far removed from the narrow scope of mere grave goods, the objects selected for the exhibition were genuine and powerful protagonists of mystical rituals and widespread apotropaic practices. Visitors will have the opportunity to admire up close the exquisite depictions of important deities such as Isis, Thot, Shu, Horus, Taweret e Besas well as two rare votive stelae carefully preserved in a room set aside entirely for this purpose.

Among the most valuable artefacts, the following stand out four key symbols of Egyptian spirituality and cosmology: the Ankh crossthe Djed pillarthe Tit node and the heart beetle. The tour concludes with an in-depth look at the figure of the Pharaoh, a cornerstone of society as a whole, understood as a genuine gods on earth.
