The exhibition Diana Sculptors, rare carver is held in theFlat della Rustica by The Ducal Palace in Mantuaa place steeped in history, built by Giulio Romano and already linked to the figure of Giovan Battista Sculptorsfather of the star artist. The exhibition hosts 40 works including drawings, medals and engravings on copper and paper, from prestigious Italian and European institutions, thanks to the collaboration with theCentral Institute for Graphics.
Diana Sculptors (c. 1547 - 1612), the first woman to obtain a pontifical privilege for the press, he was an outstanding artist in the Five hundred. Trained within her family, she refined her art by reproducing works by Giulio Romano, Parmigianino e Michelangeloand distinguished herself for her technical skill and the originality of her compositions. Admired by Giorgio Vasariwho praised both her personal grace and engraving mastery, Diana found her ideal stage in Romewhere she was welcomed among the Virtuosi del Pantheon.
His recordings range from masters of the 15th century such as Ghirlandaio e Signorellito innovative and fascinating subjects such as the Twinsin a vision that merges ancient art, fantasy e technical rigour.
