Depero Space to Space. The Creation of Memory

Produced in collaboration with the Mart - Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto and included in the programme of the’Milan Cortina 2026 Cultural Olympics, the exhibition tells a surprising parallelism between the barons Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi and Fortunato DeperoThe desire to inhabit spaces suspended between the ancient and the contemporary, transforming the home into a total work.

Space to Space brings two seemingly distant universes into dialogue. The rooms full of works and objects from the Bagatti Valsecchi House Museum overlaps with Depero's late futurist research, interweaving the 19th and 20th centuries, dream and everyday life. Both museum projects stem from a similar gesture: adapting historical buildings to a personal vision of art, making them identity and narrative places.

The route, with works from the 1930s to the 1950s, proposes an unprecedented comparison between the permanent collection and Depero's creations, enhanced by a site-specific installation by studio A-Fact. Depero Space to Space. The Creation of Memory is finally an immersive experience, enriched by Gaetano Cappa's (Istituto Barlumen) soundtracks, which amplify the sense of wonder and dynamism of the visit.
