Lamp Dog and Rock Garden in the Rossini Art Site
ROSSINI ART SITE - Briosco (MB)
includedFrom Monday 19.05.2025 to Sunday 2.11.2025
Dennis Oppenheim is the star of the exhibition Lamp Dog and Rock Garden in the Rossini Art Site, edited by Francesca Guerisolipart of the cycle The Friends of Alberto Rossini. The exhibition celebrates the artistic legacy and the deep relationship between the artist and the collector Alberto Rossinithrough two symbolic works: Lamp Doga monumental sculpture depicting a stylised wire dog lit from within, and Rock Garden, a site-specific project that remained at model level, consisting of coloured glass structures designed to be walked through.
The exhibition weaves a active dialogue between art, landscape and memoryenhancing the natural context of the sculpture park and the interdisciplinary nature of Oppenheim's poetics, which he integrated into his research architecture, installation, performance, video and photography. The work Lamp Dogacquired by Rossini in 2000 and now permanently installed in the park, represents a synthesis between monumentality and lightnesswith a language that evokes symbols and perceptions rather than defined forms.
The project Rock Gardendesigned in 2003, bears witness to the artist's evolution towards a architectural sculpture emptied of its function, transformed into pure traversable form. The exhibition is complemented by unpublished archive materials documenting the collaboration between Oppenheim and Rossini, a key figure in the marriage of art and industry, founder of the Italian Rangerwhere technology became an ally of contemporary art.
