The Egyptian Museum celebrates a legendary milestone: the 120 years since the discovery of the tomb of Kha and Merit, one of the most extraordinary treasures of the’Egyptian archaeology. This anniversary becomes the occasion for a unique exhibition event that sees the return to Turin of key exhibits thanks to a prestigious international collaboration. For the first time, visitors can admire the famous Pyramidion under the name of Kha, on loan from the Musée du Louvre by Paris, and the valuable Book of the Dead of Merit, from Bibliothèque nationale de France.
These masterpieces are displayed in constant dialogue with the exceptional grave goods original, world-renowned for its incredible completeness and the impeccable state of preservation. The exhibition, set up at the Room 7, allows an insight into the life and beliefs of the ancient Egypt through the story of this couple, offering an unprecedented intimate and scientific view. The project is the fruit of a rigorous research work and a synergy between major cultural institutions, aimed at ideally recomposing the identity of Kha and Merit. A unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the charm of the millennial history and to understand the inestimable value of the archaeological heritage shared.
