The exhibition Custody at Padernello Castle offers a fascinating journey into the heart of the Brescian Renaissancefocusing on the famous Ladies' Hall decorated by Alessandro Bonvicinoknown as the Morettoand his workshop. This masterpiece, made on the occasion of the wedding between Count Gerolamo I Martinengo of Padernello and the Marquise Eleonora Gonzaga of Sabbioneta, is housed in the prestigious Martinengo Palace in Padernello in Brescia.
The exhibition highlights the safeguarding the artistic heritage adopted during the World War IIhighlighting the role of country residences such as the Padernello Castle in the protection of works of art. In particular, the castle housed the paintings of the Ladies' Hallskilfully removed by the restorer Route Ottemi and brothers Paolo and Giuseppe Bertelli. In addition, the large canvases dedicated to the pitocchi by Giacomo Cerutitestimony of everyday life transformed into highly expressive art.
The exhibition is divided into five sections housed in the spaces on the castle's main floor, enriched by a recent photographic campaign by studio BAMSphoto and by Virginio Gilberti, which uses innovative digital photography techniques to offer an immersive view of the works. The scenographic project is curated by prof. Giacomo Andricowhile the graphic design is entrusted to Nicoletta Cancelli.
