Cosmogonies. Visionary Narratives

The exhibition Cosmogonies. Visionary Narrativesset up at the Suzzara Prize Gallery and edited by Massimo Pirotti and Erika Vecchiettiis presented as a rich and layered visual itinerary, which brings into dialogue the permanent museum collection with works from exceptional loansnever before exhibited together in an organic way. The visitor is invited to explore a visionary narrative, in which matter and imagination shape perturbing and poetic universes.

The route opens with the mythological figures by Ferruccio Bolognesithreatening and symbolic, and then crossing the organic cosmogonies by Giuseppe Billoniimmersed in dark and mysterious depths. L'hybridisation of the human form is at the heart of the work of Mario Pecchioni, while Domenico Difilippo explores the theme of the eye as an archetypal, hallucinatory symbol. The works of Raimondo Cardelli e Armodio weave fable and nightmare in a precise and imaginative painting.

The journey continues with the ceramic readers by Andrea Jorisuspended between material dynamism and intellectual dialogue, and with the surreal visions by Renzo Margonari, Ugo Sterpini e Walter Mac Mazzieri. The human body returns as a protagonist in the physical and metaphysical representations of Mario Brozzi, Lanfranco, Vinicius Pradella e Afro Daolio. The hyperrealist language of Maurizio Calciolari dissolves into mutated, mythological forms in the works of Antonio Atza, Franco Pivetti, Gianni Dova, Cesare Lazzarini, Fabrizio Clerici and in the bronze chimeras by Albano Seguri.

Closing the itinerary is the polyptych by Vania Elettra Tamwith a contemporary female figure ironically framed by household appliances, a biting reflection on the role and image of women in everyday life. A rich, layered exhibition with a strong symbolic and visual impact.
