The exhibition Baroque Churches. Between Valchiusella and Valle Dora Baltea Canavesanaset up in the historic cellars of the Grand Masun Museum a Caremaoffers an immersive journey through theBaroque architecture and religious art of the Canavese valleys. The exhibition, curated by theIvrea Morainic Amphitheatre Ecomuseum Association, was created in collaboration with the Municipality of Carema and with the support of the BIM Dora Baltea Canavesana.
The exhibition itinerary is developed in seven thematic panelsthe first introduces the historical and cultural context of the Baroquethe second compares the churches built in the Baroque era with those subsequently transformed in this style. Five panels follow, analysing the architectural and decorative elements more distinctive: façade, altars, presbytery, organ, interior structure and wall decoration. Each section is enriched by photographs of the churches present among Valchiusella e Dora Baltea Canavesana Valleyselected to best represent the specificities dealt with.
Completing the exhibition is a photographic video entitled The Essential is Baroque offers an evocative visual overview of the area's many Baroque churches, enhancing their architectural and spiritual beauty.
