The exhibition Chicco Margaroli. Atto marks the return, after twenty-six years, of the artist to the Church of San Lorenzo in Aosta, with an intense and visionary exhibition project. In collaboration with Andrea Carlotto, audiovisual artist, Margaroli proposes an immersive journey that combines contemporary art e science, exploring the theme of’adaptation of living beings in an ever-changing world.
The exhibition presents art and multimedia installations offering the audience a sensory and reflective experience, touching on crucial topics such as the structural fragility of Nature, the biodiversity, the exotic species and the climate change. The focus of the research is the tardigrade, a microscopic organism capable of surviving in extreme conditions, a symbol of extraordinary biological resilience.
The exhibition was created in collaboration with the Regional Natural Science Museum of Saint-Pierre Efisio Noussan and with the Biodiversity Structure, realities that provided the scientific basis for a profound dialogue between art and research. This interdisciplinary approach gives the exhibition a strong value educational and popular, also intended for schools in the area.
Via natural materials as nut shells, milk, plants, Margaroli invites a reinterpretation of the biological world and sends out an urgent and poetic message: art, like nature, is capable of adapting, resisting, renewing itself.
