The exhibition White or black offers a perspective unpublished on works from the MASI Collection never previously exhibited or rarely shown. Presenting an itinerary multi-issueThe exhibition brings together works of painting, sculpture, photography, kinetic and conceptual art from the 1930s to the present day. The selection, which ranges from the most influential voices of post-World War II Italian art to the ready-made conceptual art, from pop art to the hyperrealist sculpture of the new millennium, touches various focus of the MASI Collection. The juxtapositions between the works, based on the visual and conceptual suggestion of the black and whitegenerate multiple and unexpected reading possibilities. The works on display are the property of the City of Lugano, Canton Ticino and the MASI Foundation, some from the ProMuseo Association and others from private donationsincluding donations Panza di Biumo and Giancarlo and Danna Olgiati, as well as direct contributions from the artists themselves. Insights into the individual works are available to the public via smartphone by scanning QR codes.
