The exhibition space in Piazzetta Reale hosts a major retrospective exhibition celebrating the most emblematic aspects of the work of the artist, who was born in Pistoia. Through an exhibition that brings together no fewer than 85 large-format photographs, spanning a broad period of time, the beating heart of the exhibition lies in the profound dialogue that the master was able to establish, through his lens, with some of the greatest figures in the history of art from every era. Visitors can admire the famous interpretations dedicated to the timeless sculptures by absolute geniuses such as Michelangelo Buonarroti, Gian Lorenzo Bernini e Antonio Canova. Alongside this strand is a close examination of the extraordinary expressive power of contemporary art, as evidenced by the portraits and forays into the creative worlds of giants such as Alberto Burri, Emilio Vedova e Hermann Nitsch. His black-and-white photographs powerfully reveal both the hidden life of the works and the artists’ innermost identities.

This renowned exhibition is further complemented by a new and evocative section entirely dedicated to the Milan Cathedral. A series of photographs explores the majestic cathedral Milan as a malleable organism and a vibrant substance.
