Single Act

The MA*GA Museum celebrates 75 years of the Gallarate Prize, among the first institutions established in Italy to support contemporary art. Founded after World War II, the Prize gave rise to the Civic Gallery of Modern Art of Gallaratenow an integral part of MA*GA, and has built up over time a collection that continues to enrich and evolve.

The exhibition, curated by Emma Zanella e Alessandro Castiglionipresents an experimental display of the permanent collections, complemented by archive materials, videos and unpublished photographs, to tell the story and cultural impact of the Prize.

Produced by Gallarate Prize and from the MA*GA Museumwith the contribution of Lombardy Regionexhibition also includes new acquisitions from the PAC - Plan for Contemporary Art and the programme Photography Strategypromoted by the General Directorate for Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture.
