To mark the anniversary of the famous writer’s birth Carlo Lorenzini, universally known by the pseudonym Collodi the Municipality of Conzano presents an extraordinary exhibition hosted in the evocative rooms of Villa Vidua. This cultural initiative celebrates the world’s most famous puppet through a rich and varied exhibition, sure to captivate visitors of all ages.
At the heart of the exhibition is a rich and varied collection of objects drawn directly from the diverse world of the collecting. Visitors will be able to admire an extraordinary selection of books from all over the world, which bear witness to the global reach and immense literary success of Collodi’s work. Alongside the books, the exhibition features a fascinating selection of historical posters, vintage games, rare items and countless other intriguing details that evoke the world and adventures of Pinocchio.
The exhibition is further enriched by the valuable contribution of 25 nationally and internationally renowned artists. These authors have sought to reinterpret and illustrate, each in their own unique style and with their own sensibility, the story of the famous wooden puppet, offering the public fresh and evocative perspectives on a timeless classic.
To round off this extraordinary cultural journey, the programme includes a special event finissage an open-air event, to be held in the picturesque setting of Australia Square. To mark the occasion, the famous film will be screened “Pinocchio: the much-loved fairy tale comes to life”, directed by the multi-award-winning director Matteo Garrone and which features the actor in an extraordinary performance Roberto Benigni , thus offering a perfect blend of visual art, literature and great cinema.
