Temporary exhibition
Arte Povera and new displays in the permanent collection
Rivoli Castle | Museum of Contemporary Art - Rivoli (TO)
From Friday 27.03.2026 to Sunday 23.08.2026
The halls of the first and the second floor of the historic building of the Rivoli Castle host a renewed route dedicated to the Permanent Collection of the Museum. Conceived as a living matter and constantly evolving, the collection is presented through novel displays that aim to share with visitors both the most recent acquisitions both the already consolidated historical heritage. By the end of 2026, the exhibition route will see a progressive transformation centred on the’Arte Povera, with the opening of monographic rooms dedicated to the pioneers of the movement and the exhibition of works of exceptional historical relevance.
As early as spring, the public can admire outstanding masterpieces by the protagonists of the’Italian art, such as Untitled by Gino De Dominicis, the imposing canvases of Emilio Vedova including Of Human ’85 - II -, and the iconic Black people by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The route is also enriched with the poetics of Marisa Merz and the important novelty of On the lakeshore by Piero Gilardi, exhibited for the first time in the Castle's halls thanks to a recent donation. The exhibition design dialogues with the museum's Baroque architecture, creating a visual short circuit between the historical heritage and the experiments of the contemporary languages. Highlights include the series Pazuzu by Roberto Cuoghi, evidence of the Museum's continuous research into the most current expressions of the sculpture and theinstallation.
