GALLERIES OF ITALY - TURIN - Turin (TO)
includedFrom Thursday 27.06.2024 to Monday 6.01.2025
The Gallerie d'Italia - Turin presents the photographer's exhibition Antonio Biasiucci, third chapter of the project Great Italian Photography edited by Roberto Koch.
This project, started in 2022 with Lisetta Carmi and continued in 2023 with Mimmo Jodice, celebrates the great masters of 20th century Italian photography. Antonio Biasiucci (Dragoni, 1961), one of the most innovative contemporaries, offers an essential and symbolic photographic language. The exhibition unites for the first time the different chapters of the utopian poem by Biasiucci: polyptychs, sequences and single works poetically represent human life.
Ancestral themes such as knowledge and food are combined with current content such as the drama of migrants. The photographs, often shrouded in black, require the viewer to surrender to astonishment in order to discover the origin of life. The intervention by Mimmo Paladinowith primitive drawings and engraved numbers, dialogues intimately with Biasiucci's works, exploring human multiplicity.
