La Marcello Morandini Foundation presents an extensive exhibition dedicated to one of the Italian protagonists of artistic research between art, science and design. The exhibition, curated by Stefania Gaudiosi, offers a selection of images and interactive and immersive works investigating the light as formal and conceptual matter, conceived as a generative element of space and a vehicle for cognitive enhancement.
Antonio Barrese, founder and soul of the historic MID Group (Change Image Size), has developed since the 1960s a pioneering poetics that combines scientific design, aesthetic tension and technological experimentation, anticipating many of today's reflections on the transformative value of visual research. Within the Morandini Foundation, The visitor is dropped into an atmospheric environment where the viewer is invited to discover the becoming language of the element of light through historical and recent works covering a wide time span.
Born in Milan, the artist completed his studies at the’Brera Academy and made his debut at a very young age in Lombardy's capital city, eventually founding the art collective with which he created installations, photographs, experimental films and performances of visual-acoustic synesthesia characterised by an extraordinary openness towards technology, visual narrative and the fusion of image and writing.
