Andrea Branzi by Toyo Ito Continuous Present

Together with Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain Triennale di Milano presents a major monographic exhibition dedicated to Andrea Branzi - central figure of the Italian design and design thinking between the last century and the present - through the eyes of the Pritzker Prize winner Toyo Ito, Branzi's long-time friend and collaborator.

In the exhibition route installations, objects, drawings and photographs dialogue with each other, highlighting key themes in Branzi's research. The exhibition also traces Branzi's connection with the two institutions:

• On the one hand, its role in Triennial as designer, theorist and curator between 1973 and 2022;
• On the other hand, the environments created for the exhibition Open Enclosures of the Fondation Cartier in 2008.

A biographical focus accompanies the visitor from the first radical experiments with Archizoomthrough Alchemy and Memphis, until the maturation of its anthropological approach to design. A large installation site-specific is dedicated to No Stop City (1969-1972), a symbolic project of his critique of the modern metropolis.
