AMPHIBIA

An immersion between land and water, between spectacular photographs, engaging videos e natural vivariums: AMPHIBIA is a fascinating exhibition that explores the world of amphibians, unique creatures suspended between two environments. Curated by naturalists Emanuele Biggi e Francesco Tomasinelli, the exhibition guides the visitor through the discovery of frogs, toads, salamanders and caecilians, with an in-depth look at their life cycle, the metamorphosis, and strategies of survival in increasingly threatened habitats.

Thanks to a rich selection of large-format images, video-sound installations and vivariums recreating tropical environments, the exhibition tells the story of the lives of exotic species (unprotected and born in captivity), accompanying the public on a sensory and educational journey. Particular attention is paid to the conservationmore than 40% of amphibians are now threatened with extinction due to climate change, infectious diseases e habitat destruction. The European Project LIFE Insubricus, presented in the exhibition is a concrete example of environmental protection, focusing on the Italian dusky pelobate.

The exhibition is also characterised by its experiential: every weekend there are guided tours e educational workshops for families and schools, including the’Ecolab “Jump in your mouth!”, dedicated to children. AMPHIBIA is more than an exhibition: it is an invitation to get to know, respect and defend a fragile and wonderful world.
