Alice Cattaneo

As part of the SECOND RESONANCE, the GAM presents Where space calls the signa major anthological exhibition dedicated to the work of Alice Cattaneo (Milan, 1976), edited by John James Paolin.

The exhibition tells different moments of the artist's researchdrawing a score in which words such as rhythm, interruption e care accompany the experience of visitors.

The title of the exhibition was inspired by a conversation the artist had with a master glassmaker from Muranowho, in order to tell her when and where to cut a certain element for one of her sculptures, suggested doing it 'where the material calls'. The craftsman's words play between the visible and the invisible and evoke certain intrinsic qualities of the material, with which a certain kind of relationship can only be established with the passage of time. The suggestion is to listen as much to what is in front of us as to the intuition built up by our experience.
