On the steps of the Monaca di Monza

Sister Virginia, the famous ‘Lady of Monza’ from the novel, comes to life in the galleries of the Civic Museums: her portrait comes to life and recounts her story, whilst Alessandro Manzoni tells of his encounter with Marianna de Leyva and their tragic love story. A guided tour of the museum, taking in the exhibits and the multimedia area, followed by a walk through the historic centre to explore the sites that formed the backdrop to the historical events (exteriors only).
