Leonardo: a journey through portraiture
Milan (MI)
Saturday 14 November 2026 at 11:00-12:30
The tour takes visitors on a journey through the faces that have made the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana’s collection famous: it culminates in the famous *Musico*, painted in Milan by Leonardo da Vinci – the artist’s only portrait still in the city – accompanied by the exquisitely tender portraits by Bernardino Luini, a master of devotional art, and the realism of Figino, who captures “the truest likeness” of Saint Charles Borromeo. The tour continues under the gaze of Paolo Morigia, painted by Fede Galizia, and the resolute countenance of Countess Prati Morosini by Hayez, finally reaching the delicate face of the Cardinal’s Duchess: glances, thoughts and smiles that allow us to tell stories capable of moving, surprising and enriching us.
