Gardens, parks, avenues told from the perspective of greenery and in particular the rich tree heritage in the most popular areas of our city. Recognising a tree, understanding its history, both botanical and cultural, and finally appreciating its aesthetic and landscape value in an urban setting. Through the walks we will learn to put ourselves in the shoes of our trees in order to better protect and care for their growth.

The Calendar

Monday 14 April at 15.30-17.30
Along the Po
The river is naturally a privileged environment for tree growth, and the urban context makes it possible to appreciate very interesting and unusual trees. Route from Piazza Vittorio Veneto along Po Machiavelli to Michelotti Park.

Monday 26 May at 15.30-17.30
Gardens and squares in the historic centre
In the 19th and 20th centuries, many gardens in the city centre were laid out in the Italian, French and English style. Trees, flowerbeds and furnishings embellish our city centre, starting from the Sambuy Garden and arriving in Piazza Maria Teresa, passing through the Aiuola Balbo and Giardino Cavour.

Monday 29 September at 15.30-17.30
Tree-lined avenues and Tesoriera Park
Kilometres of tree-lined city streets, a wealth that few other cities in the world can boast. The tradition of the tree-lined avenue has its roots in ancient Rome and still today plants that have made history are used, but with an eye to modern times. Route along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Racconigi, Lecce, and France, arriving at the Tesoriera Park.

Monday 10 November at 15.30-17.30
Valentino Park
The autumnal colours, the river, the charm of a romantic, English-style park take us to a different dimension where the city surrounds a green and vital lung full of history and charm. Walk from the monumental arch of Corso Vittorio to the Borgo Medievale.
