L’arte del mosaico

How is a mosaic made? What is the symbolic significance of mosaics in the Middle Ages? The workshop offers an explanation of mosaics, an analysis of the splendid mosaics in the chapel and crypt made by Venetian manufacturers, and the techniques used to create them in ancient and modern times. After seeing them, the children will be invited to make their own mosaic using cardboard and coloured paper.
