For kids | Let's make a mosaic

The extremely rich collection of materials from the Roman era displayed in the museum's halls and cloisters shows us the everyday aspects of the life of the ancient inhabitants of Mediolanum and tells us about a beautiful city, rich in impressive public buildings: statues, epigraphs, domestic utensils, toiletry items, ceramics, precious vases, mosaics, which allow us to get to know Roman Milan in depth. The tour also includes the inside of the polygonal tower belonging to the city walls and the outside of the Circus Tower, which are located in the museum courtyard. Which houses did the ancient Mediolanenses live in? We enter wonderfully decorated domus, insulae and villas and learn what techniques were used to make mosaics and then produce one in the workshop with many coloured tesserae.
