Guided tour of the exhibition From the Squares to the Courts. Stories of games and shows between the 18th and 19th centuries with a talk by Augusto Grilli, founder of the Compagnia Marionette Grilli.

Augusto Grilli, through a passionate account of his profession, reveals the history, secrets and anecdotes of an evocative and ancient theatre tradition.

Since 1978, Grilli's passion has led him, together with his wife Mariarosa, to manage a collection of marionettes that now amounts to around 26,000 pieces. The collection includes pieces of great value, which can be placed within a time span from the 18th century to the present day. In addition to a large number of materials belonging to famous Piedmontese and Italian companies and families, the Grilli collection includes marionettes, puppets and shadow puppets from different countries around the world: England, France, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Turkey, India, China, Burma, and the United States.
