AM Club | The Francesco Faà di Bruno Museum

Visita al museo dedicato al Beato Faà di Bruno, uomo fuori dal comune con un poliedrico ingegno. E’ stato capitano dell’esercito sabaudo nella prima guerra di Indipendenza, matematico apprezzato a livello internazionale, astronomo, musicista, giornalista, professore dell’Università di Torino, inventore e illustre rappresentante del cattolicesimo sociale.

The occasion will also include a visit to the bell tower of Santa Zita, the lighthouse of the San Donato district, the great pencil pointing up into the sky, the daring design for which Faà di Bruno consulted Alessandro Antonelli. From a height of 75 metres, it offers a unique feature, a marvel of mechanics and architecture: 32 cast-iron columns that give the bell tower flexibility and give way to sound waves.
