AM Club | The Francesco Faà di Bruno Museum

A visit to the museum dedicated to Blessed Faà di Bruno, an extraordinary man of many talents. He was a captain in the Savoy army during the First War of Independence, an internationally renowned mathematician, an astronomer, a musician, a journalist, a professor at the University of Turin, an inventor and a distinguished exponent of social Catholicism.

The occasion will also include a visit to the bell tower of Santa Zita, the lighthouse of the San Donato district, the great pencil pointing up into the sky, the daring design for which Faà di Bruno consulted Alessandro Antonelli. From a height of 75 metres, it offers a unique feature, a marvel of mechanics and architecture: 32 cast-iron columns that give the bell tower flexibility and give way to sound waves.
