AM Club | Off Course. Journeys and Travellers in the Works of the Municipal Collections

Guided tour of the exhibition “Off Course”: a journey through Africa, Asia and the Far East, amongst explorers and distant worlds, through the works of the Civic Museums. A fascinating journey exploring the theme of travel, understood as discovery, exploration and an extraordinary opportunity for dialogue between civilisations. The exhibition unfolds across the millennia to recount the myriad facets of the human experience of movement. An adventure that begins with artefacts from antiquity and leads to the exploits of nineteenth-century explorers in the heart of Africa. Particular emphasis is placed on the wonders of the Far East and the timeless allure of Pharaonic Egypt – lands that have fuelled the collective imagination of generations of travellers.

• Cost: Free event with compulsory booking reserved for subscribers. Each Museum Subscription holder may bring along a non-subscriber who will enjoy the guided tour free of charge (the non-subscriber only has to pay for the Museum entrance ticket).
