AM Club | Fan Ho. The master of Hong Kong photography

A visit to the current exhibition at Palazzo Barolo in Turin celebrates the extraordinary career of Fan Ho, one of Asia’s most important street photographers. Produced by Ares in collaboration with the Blue Lotus Gallery in Hong Kong, the exhibition comprises one hundred photographs, predominantly in black and white, which trace the Chinese artist’s aesthetic exploration, striking a perfect balance between realism and abstraction.
Nicknamed the «Cartier-Bresson of the East», Fan Ho was able to transform the teeming, crowded streets of the metropolis into meditative images populated by solitary figures, capturing the city’s truest spirit during the 1950s and 1960s.
