AM Club | Art and Nature. Stone painting between the 16th and 17th centuries

The guided tour dedicated to the exhibition Art and Nature leads to the discovery of a period in which stone was the protagonist of art and painting. Between the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, artists invented new techniques and experimented with methods to enhance the hues and veining of stone supports, transforming them into an integral part of the mythological, religious or naturalistic subject depicted: the illusion is to aspire to eternity and rival the creative power of nature!
