1. Visit to the Statue of St Charles

A journey to discover the figure of Saint Charles Borromeo, Archbishop of Milan and a native of Arona, through the imposing 17th-century monument designed by Gian Battista Crespi. Standing 35 metres tall and towering over Lake Maggiore, the monument is a true masterpiece of engineering: its hollow structure, supported by an ingenious system of tie-rods, allows visitors to climb right up into the saint’s head.

2. A visit to the statue and cocktails on the Paradiso Terrace

The guided tour experience is enhanced by a relaxing break with breathtaking views of Lake Maggiore. Before or after the tour, you can enjoy a cocktail at the restaurant Paradiso Terrace, situated just a short walk from the monument, where you can experience the Sancarlone in an atmospheric and convivial setting.

3. In the footsteps of the Borromeo family: from the statue to the town centre

A comprehensive itinerary that combines the climb up to the monument with a charming stroll through the historic centre of Arona. Once the tour of the statue is over, a scenic mini-train will take the group along the lake to the Church of Santa Maria di Loreto. At the end of the route, you can return to the statue by train or continue exploring the town centre at your own pace.

⚠️ Useful Information and Security

To enter the interior of the Statue, the following provisions must be observed:

• Footwear: Obligatory trainers or closed shoes suitable for climbing (no flip-flops or open sandals).
• Luggage: Bulky bags and backpacks must be left on the outdoor terrace.
• Restrictions: Admission is forbidden for children under 6 years of age; between 6 and 12 years an accompanying person is obligatory.
• Cheers: The climb is not recommended for those suffering from claustrophobia or vertigo.
