Indeed, Amedeo di Castellamonte, the great architect of the House of Savoy, the man who built the Royal Palace of Venaria, welcomes you today to his home, Castellamonte Castle.

With “TorinoeDintorni”, you can enjoy an exclusive opportunity to visit Amedeo’s actual home, discovering through an engaging “animated tour” narrated by three voices the history of an ancient medieval manor house, later rebuilt in the 17th century and completed in the 19th, along with the stories of the families who have lived there and who still live there today. Alongside Amedeo, the tour will bring to life – giving them a voice – his daughter Antonia Maria, Duke Carlo Emanuele II of Savoy and the great Bernini, and finally the stories of the Ricardi di Netro counts during the battles of the Risorgimento.

In particular, visitors can relive the fascinating history of the Chapel of the Assumption, which has recently been restored thanks to the PNRR, and discover its previously unseen and unique painted altarpiece – the sole surviving example of the many “ephemeral installations” created by Amedeo.

You will then be welcomed by the host, who will share interesting facts, anecdotes, traditions and little family secrets relating to the art of dining.

Notes: The event will begin at 4.00 pm and will finish around 7.00 pm with a toast with sparkling wine!
