The Association

"The purpose of the Association is to promote and coordinate cultural initiatives and events aimed at spreading and improving knowledge and enjoyment of museums and enhancing the cultural heritage of Turin, Piedmont and other Italian regions".

(cf. Art. 3 of the Statutes)

We create and develop projects to support the cultural development of the region and its citizensworking in close cooperation with institutions and the cultural fabric, with the aim of supporting and developing cultural participation.

The Abbonamento Musei Association (formerly Torino Città Capitale Europea) was established in 1995 by the Culture Departments of the City of Turin, the Piedmont Region and the Province of Turin with the aim of managing and promoting city events related to cultural promotion. Since 1998 the Association is in charge of the management and promotion of the Museum Subscription, which is now the core of its activities.

In 2015 At the instigation of the Lombardy Region, Abbonamento Musei Lombardia was created and an inter-regional working dimension opened up, capable of extending the pool of users, increasing the cultural offer and developing proximity tourism in an increasingly effective manner, starting with the instrument of the regional card.

In 2019 the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta adheres to the Abbonamento Musei (Museum Subscription) allowing a further expansion of the offer.

Today the Founding Members are the Piedmont Region, the City of Turin and the CRT Foundation; i Ordinary Members are the Lombardy Region, the Autonomous Region Aosta Valleythe Municipality of Milan and the National Museum of the Risorgimento. The Association is governed by the Members' Assembly, which appoints the President, and by the Executive Board, which meets periodically to direct and regulate the Association's activities.
Within the framework of the cultural policies expressed by the territory, the Association is a place for the creation, sharing of projects, management of networks and systems aimed at encouraging, simplifying and facilitating access to culture by the public, also through the conception and development of specific actions to enhance the cultural heritage.

L'Museum Subscription is an instrument to support the demand for culture of the citizens of the region's area of reference and proximity, in the form of a free-access card for museums and affiliated propertiesis an integrated communication system aimed at the public, pursuing audience engagement and audience development.
An instrument of cultural welfare at the service of citizens, the Abbonamento Musei proposes museums and monuments as a unitary system starting with access, regardless of ownership or location, as if they were a single large museum, building a tool aimed at the resident public to build their loyalty and broaden their visit circuits.
L'Abbonamento Musei aims to change the relationship between museums and the public by opening up a freer mode of visitationincreasingly in line with today's understanding of the museum as a place to be experienced and enjoyed freely.
The card guarantees free and unlimited access to affiliated museums and exhibitions and discounts on other cultural activities.

L'offer of Abbonamento Musei takes the form of three proposals:

275museums
AM Piedmont Aosta Valley
A network of 245 museums in Piedmont and 30 in Aosta Valley forms the rich cultural offer developed
