Temporary exhibition

ForDiana! Giacomo Ceruti, masterpieces between Lombardy and Veneto

MARTES | SORLINI ART MUSEUM - Calvagese della Riviera (BS)

included
From Sunday 7.05.2023 to Sunday 30.07.2023

The exhibition will deepen our knowledge of the Lombard painter's works in the collection, La Vecchia Contadina, Il Bravo and Diana and the Nymphs Surprised by Actaeon, witnesses of the Brescian youthful production and the mature Milanese phase, put into dialogue and comparison with the Venetian and Venetian art already present in the museum and with important loans from prestigious cultural institutions and important private collections.

The exhibition route will thus allow an in-depth analysis of Ceruti's stylistic change in the transition between Lombardy and Veneto.

The Sorlini Collection, highly representative of 18th century Veneto and Venetian figurative culture, includes paintings by Pittoni, Pellegrini, Ricci, Diziani, Tiepolo and Guardi, which allow for a constant reference to the 'models' that facilitated the updating of Pitocchetto's production.
